Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar is considered the messiah for his efforts to bring equal opportunity and social justice to the Dalits and marginalised communities. He intended to integrate socialism with democracy, legally demolished untouchability, and presented the nation with a constitution based on the principle of equality for all human beings. This book seeks to make a critical analysis of B.R. Ambedkar's vision of social justice. Going deep into the socio-economic and political condition of Dalits in historical perspective, it discusses at length the provision of social justice in Indian Constitution. It also examines Ambedkar's vision of social justice for women, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, his fight against untouchability and caste system, and his efforts for Dalit education, gender equality and women empowerment. Finally, it takes stock of Ambedkar's relevance in the upliftment of the present-day Dalits and women.
